 Exeter Nuffield provides post-operative physiotherapy for all patients undergoing surgery at the Nuffield hospital.

Peter Hamer

Grad. Dip. Phys, MCSP HCPC Registered Qualified in 1987

He is a specialist shoulder and elbow extended scope physiotherapist who works closely with both Mr Smith and Mr Thomas. He has a particular interest in patients with scapular (shoulder blade) problems and patients with instability of the shoulder joint. He is one of the specialist physiotherapists at Exeterphysio, providing pre- and post-operative care.

He is a leading clinician in the South West and lectures nationally on shoulders and has presented at the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow. He is a member of the British Shoulder and Elbow Society.

Louise Lake

BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC Registered.  Shoulder and Elbow Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP).  She is one of the specialist physiotherapists at Exeterphysio, providing pre- and post-operative care.

Louise is a highly qualified and experienced specialist physiotherapist. She qualified in 2010 with a First-Class Honours degree from Plymouth University and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and The British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS)

Advanced Qualifications and Expertise include, Extensive postgraduate training with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. Master's level studies in healthcare leadership, management, non-medical prescribing and injection therapy.  She is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound to provide enhanced skills in the acute shoulder pathway at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RDE) working with the shoulder and elbow team.

Louise brings a wealth of experience from senior roles in both the NHS and currently working in the private sector. Her passion for shoulder and elbow pathology stems from her interests in activities like show jumping and MotoGP, where these joints play a critical role.

She is a lead member of the shoulder special interest group at Exeter, collaborating with surgical teams and contributing to clinician training across the South West.
